In 1985 Greg Buckles was sent out from Pantego Bible Church with an electric typewriter and one year of full time salary to start a church in Mansfield. Greg moved his family to Mansfield to start this church. He began to meet for prayer and strategy with one other family, which he had known for only a month, to make plans for starting this church. From this small beginning has grown a thriving and Christ-centered Bible church in Mansfield.

In 3 months we quickly outgrew our home setting and by January of 1986 we began meeting in a small information center near the Country Club. We moved several times before purchasing and remodeling a Doctor’s office on Dallas Street in 1992. It was our first building and we were excited to be on the map!

Mansfield Bible Church expanded three years later when the congregation pitched in for many Saturdays to build a moveable building for a larger worship space. The next year the congregation purchased 14 acres of land on Broad Street for a future building—a real provision from
God at a great price!

In 1998 after growing too large for the portable, we rented a nearby office supply building that we renovated for use as a worship area. In the Spring of 2002 we expanded that area, in only six weeks, just in time for Easter services..

In 2003 we took the step of beginning to secure financing for a new facility at a new location. After a fund raising drive and the sale of part of our property we had enough to begin to talk to banks about securing a loan to build a new building.

God allowed the process to be slowed by a number of means, one of which was a moratorium placed on our land by the City of Mansfield. During that God permitted delay a whole new plan developed and we purchased a beautiful 60,000 square foot facility on 2351 Country Club Drive. We had our first service in our new facility on August 5, 2007. We are really enjoying the spacious classrooms, the gym and the 750 seat auditorium! God certainly has done more than we could ever think or ask!
