VOLUNTEER

Serving in the Mansfield Bible Church’s Children’s Ministry

Teacher Qualifications
Adult Christians in places of responsibility within MBCKids are role models for young boys and girls. They must set a Christ-like example in their speech, actions, and in the demonstration of their faith. We maintain a high standard for all leadership. We believe only the most qualified, the most dedicated, and those with the highest integrity should be molding precious young lives.
The following qualifications are required of all MBCKids adult teachers:
 Be a “born again” Christian.
 Demonstrate a desire to serve the Church by using their gifts to reach & teach children.
 Live a “changed” lifestyle, exemplifying Christ-like standards and morals.
 Regularly attend Mansfield Bible Church.
 Be supportive of the ministries of Mansfield Bible, its leaders (both lay and pastoral) and/or its members.

Teacher Application and Background Checks
MBCKids has a standard application and training process for all new teachers. Once they meet the teacher qualifications, they must:
 Complete and submit an MBCKids volunteer application and authorization to conduct a Criminal Background Check.
 Interview with the Children’s Ministry Director.
 Work alongside an MBCKids trainer in the classroom for a minimum of two sessions or as needed.
MBCKids asks each adult leader to complete a Teacher Application and Background check. This application gives you the opportunity to share how Christ has transformed your life. We want to hear your story. We also ask that you give two references in order that we may learn more about you. We will also conduct a criminal background check. Mansfield Bible Church doesn’t take safety for granted. Sometimes people look safe and they aren’t, so we don’t change the rules for anyone. Background checks must be submitted and approved.

Length of Commitment
Most people enjoy Children’s Ministry and don’t want to leave once they get involved. Others serve for a season and move into other areas of service. For the time you are involved, please give the best you have to the children. Come early, come prepared, and allow God to use you to mold the lives of children for His Kingdom.

During your initial observation period, please seek God’s direction regarding your commitment. If at the end of this period, you feel like Children’s Ministry is where God is calling you…and if your area Coordinator has found the right “fit” for you in a classroom, we will place you in that classroom to start immediately. We want you to feel great about where you are serving and will work with you to find that place that is “just right”! We will also ask you to attend any scheduled Teacher Training.
